Hands Work

Nate | Potter

Happy New Year everyone! First post of the 2015! Today I bring you the fourth installment of my personal project capturing folks who work with their hands in the space they do so.  For this batch, I was lucky to spend some time the lovely potter, Nate Pidduck, in his studio located amidst Santa Paula orchards (check out his work here). Nate and I met a looonnnng time ago (holy crap time flies) when we both worked at the unofficial Patagonia outlet in Ventura. Thank you, Nate, for letting me crash your pottery party.

Matt | Flint Outdoors

It's time for the third installment of my personal project documenting folks who work with their hands (see here and here for the first two). This time I had the great pleasure of spending time with the wonderful Matt Katsaros of Flint Outdoors. Matt is a man of many artistic talents and makes an assortment of beautiful things - canvas rucksacks, workshop aprons, quilts, prints, and on and on. His studio is an magical space, lovingly grown over the years. Hopefully these images capture a small piece of Matt, his space and the art he creates.

Drew | Painter

Time for the second installment of my personal project documenting folks who work with their hands (see here for the first batch).  This set documents my lovely friend Drew, artist extraordinaire. In addition to being incredibly talented in installations, woodworking, drawing, and painting, Drew is just plain awesome and someone you always want around. He's ebullient. I wish I could have spent the entire day hanging out with him in his basement studio as he worked on finishing up pieces for his upcoming exhibit. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Drew Bennett....
